Dr. Brooke Winchell is an assistant professor at The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Special Education and Early Childhood Education. She has worked with children from birth to age 8 who are at-risk for or diagnosed with emotional/behavioral disorders, for whom she has designed, implemented, and monitored behavioral interventions. Brooke has extensive experience in working with children with challenging behaviors and is a certified trainer for Triple P: Positive Parenting Program.

Professor Winchell is a great professor. She always makes the class enjoyable and engaging. Her personality shows in her teaching. So I always enjoy being in her class because she makes the class more interesting and I am not bored the whole time I’m in there. She has so much knowledge in the area of special education and I am very thankful that I have had her for a supervisor for my final student teaching experience.She has been super supportive and helpful.

I really appreciate this professor’s approach to teaching. She is to the point, prepared and knowledgeable about the information and makes the learning process fun. She has always been available for me if I needed her help or guidance in any way. Because of the heaviness of the topics covered in her class, this could easily be a stressful course but I’ve never felt that way because of the way she handles subject matter and clearly communicates with the cohort.

Brooke is constantly keeping our entire cohort grounded. She is the first professor to step up and tell us that even at our worst we will make it through the tough times. She gives us great feedback and is always honest with us for all of our assignments. She brings a lot of character into this program and it just wouldn’t be the same without her.
